Our churches are now open to all parishioners and the local community on the following days and times:
S.S. Anthony & Clare Wednesday 10:00am – 1:00pm
Our Lady of Peace Thursday 12:00pm – 2:00pm
The Sacred Heart Friday 10:00am – 1:00pm
This is a new venture starting in January 2009 and it is hoped as many people will use it as possible.
With Lent fast approaching, it will soon be time for our soup lunches in Pontllanfraith and breakfasts in Risca again. Come along and join us.
There are two church halls, both of which are well used by the various groups, (see under heading “Groups”) we have in our parish community. Coffee mornings/evenings are held frequently in all three church communities allowing people to socialise on a regular basis after Mass. Both church halls are available for hire for various functions such as children’s parties.
Also in Pontllanfraith is the house that was at one time the Presbytery. This is fully furnished, has a well-equipped kitchen and four double bedrooms. The house is available for hire for small groups to use for meetings or retreats or it may be used by visitors wishing to stay in our locality. It is in an ideal location being situated on the main bus routes to Tredegar or Cardiff and is within easy walking distance of the town of Blackwood.
