This Year's Confirmation

We celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Parish on Thursday, 25th June.

It was a wonderful night and nine people were confirmed, 8 of our young people and 1 of our adults. Congratulaions to you all.

What we offer

Baptism

If you have a new baby and are wanting the Sacrament of Baptism, please see your priest and ask for information. You will be given a form and a date will be made for baptism preparation sessions. A date for the Baptism needs to be agreed with the Parish Priest - please don't arrange this before having seen him!

First Holy Communion Preparation

As your children reach the age of about 7 years old it is time for them to start their preparations for their First Reconciliation and their First Holy Communion. Forms are normally available throughout September and are expected to be returned by the end of October so that plans can be made for classes, There is a course to be followed and towards the end of this a date will be made for the Celebration of First Holy Communion. It is essential that the children finish the whole course before the celebration can take place.

Confirmation

The next step after First Holy Communion is the sacrament of Confirmation, this takes place at a time after a young person is in year 8 at school; but it is also important that it is their decision and is when they feel ready to take on this commitment.
Confirmation completes the sacraments of initiation, and it is the gateway to Christian Adulthood.
The programme usually takes approximately 12 weeks to complete and then the cofirmandee are presented to the Bishop to be confirmed.

Marriage Preparation

This is an organised programme for those preparing for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. After seeing the priest to make initial enquiries and to arrange dates, a time will be arranged for preparation classes. There are four sessions of these which are about two hours each that normally take place in the evenings after arrangements with the leaders.

Feedback for this programme has been very positive. Those who have taken part so far have said that it was very good.

Interested?

To ask for any of the Sacraments, please talk with the Parish Priest.

This can be done after one of the Masses; no arrangemnents are made over the 'phone, or by email.
